Building a safe haven to cope with climate extremes
About The HuT
In Europe, in the last 40 years, extreme climate events have caused economic losses amounting to an estimated EUR 446 billion, 81% of the total losses caused by natural hazards (source: EEA). Finding effective strategies to manage the risks associated with extreme climate events is imperative.

TheHuT involves 10 areas around Europe where new ways to limit/manage risks associated to climate change will be tested. A set of ten demonstrators will constitute a multi-hazard arena. Representatives of the scientific and technical communities, practitioners such as climate experts, policy-makers and local communities across Europe will play a key role in this mission.
