The project has been designed to help partners in the demonstrators’ arena to share best practices and know-how. This knowledge transfer and cross-fertilisation will also serve to engage with stakeholders in developing new DRR measures in the long term.
The project will improve DRR practices for climate extremes, by integrating innovative behavioural, political, and technological solutions for all stakeholders.
Successful solutions to risks associated with climate change should deliver what the EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change defines as the “triple dividend of adaptation”:
- avoiding future human, natural and material losses;
- generating economic benefits by reducing risks, increasing productivity, and stimulating innovation;
- gaining social, environmental and cultural benefits.
