Capturing the NEXUS: A global photo contest connecting art, science & society

Naples (Italy) / June 22, 2026

Excerpt: The first edition of FESTAS will coincide with the final assembly of the European project The HuT – The Human-Tech Nexus, funded by Horizon Europe and coordinated by the University of Salerno. The forty-eight-month project is exploring the relationship between governance, human behavior, and technology in managing weather-induced risks, amidst a growing climate emergency. FESTAS aims to evolve, in festival form, activities at the intersection of science and art that have already developed within The HuT project.

NEXUS is the first experiment of FESTAS, a series of events that examines the complexity of the world we live in, and the world that awaits us, from multiple perspectives, exploring the connections between human activities and the environment, between nature and society, without simplifications, with awareness, and with emotions.
